Two representatives from Surfrider Foundation yesterday to the Canary Islands for the first conference on wave’s protection as a human, economic and sport resource.

This meeting was initiated by the Spanish Surf Federation and the Tenerife School of Law, La Laguna, and brings together French, Spanish and English people. These people want waves to be part of the world heritage.

Waves have a crucial impact on the coastline, on a physical, biological and geological point of view. Coastal management is a threat to waves and many of them don’t exist anymore because of economic and industrial interests.

Surfrider Foundation supports the Spanish initiative.
