The laboratories: Supplementary Quality Surveillance

In addition to these scientific programs, we receive field testimonials from our “Keepers of the Coast”. We bring our scientific knowledge, media, and in certain cases, legal expertise to support those who dedicate their time and effort to the conservation of the oceans.

Faced with ecological urgency, we have put in place a 5 year strategic plan to raise awareness and protect the coastal environment, water quality and leisure activities.

In addition, the problems linked to pollution override coastal related problems as they are a part of a global issue related to the water cycle that affects the global water source. In this sense, despite efforts by coastal communities to improve wastewater treatment and clean up chemical pollution, problems persist, particularly near estuaries. Therefore, streams and rivers, the primary carriers of pollution (upstream and downstream sections), are now at the heart of Surfrider's environmental challenge for tomorrow.

That is why Surfrider Foundation Europe is interested in the pollution upstream from coastal zones.
