The Surfrider Foundation Europe headquarter is looking for a lobbying responsible. It would aim to ensure a legal wakefulness on European issues to influence European policy makers by promoting our interests through a representation in Brussels.

 

Mission:

Taking into account the specific location of this representation, you would be the permanent representative nearby the European institutions. Driven by the European headquarters’ strategic orientations, you would efficiently work out on lobbying campaign and you would have to:

·         Know the actual and future stakes: being in the heart of the information about the economical and environmental legislations thanks to a permanent legal wakefulness.

·         Create an influence network at the European level: being in the heart of the action thanks to a progressive setting up of interest representations in Brussels.  

·         Influence the European policies: being in the heart of the decision process thanks to lobbying tools set up nearby the several stakeholders. 

Also, you would ensure a coordination role on the northern Europe maritime frontage. You would look after the setting up of the synergy between the several local actors in order to develop Surfrider Foundation’s program on this area. You would be the structural link between the coastline users, the volunteers, the chapters, the local, regional and national key institutions of each member state, and the association European’s headquarter. 

Knowledge:

Required:

-          Excellent knowledge about the wheels of the European institution.

-          Fluent in French and English languages, and at least another European language.

-          Diplomat, political meaning, relational quality, well organized, powerful proposal.

-          Environmental fiber.

-          Knowledge in using office software and Internet.

 

Wished:

-          Knowledge about NGO funding specificities.

-          Practicing Water sport.

-          Knowledge about the institutional funding system and the European funding.

 

Skills:

 
      -     Master degree in Political Science

      -     2 years of experience in a NGO or company

Short term contract based in Brussels, start in January 2009. Remuneration: From €1600 gross per month considering experience.
