Tomorrow's generations are the children of today. They must be aware of the environmental threats of the coming years so that they can adapt their behaviour towards sustainable living.

Designed for children aged between 7 and 16, the Surfrider educational program was started in 1995. Its objective is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the coastlines and of becoming an 'eco-citizen'.

Our education department creates teaching tools for teachers, parents, and all who work with children and wish to provide them with the knowledge for sustainable development and coastal preservation.

Surfrider was awarded with an official approval as an Institute of Education by France's Minister for Youth and Sport.

• 1990: Surfrider Foundation Europe was created
• 1995: creation of the booklet 'Océane'
• 2000: launch of the Surfrider Foundation Europe teaching pack ‘Tomy’
• 2001: creation of the game 'Ocean Planet’
• 2004: creation of the Surfrider exhibition 'Waves & Coastlines'
• 2006: creation of the educational film 'From the mountains to the ocean: the journey of a drop of water'
• 2007-2008: creation of the multimedia set OCEAN COOL in 7 European languages
