Surfrider Foundation Europe engages in many strategies to protect European beaches so that future generations will be able enjoy healthy, clean oceans and seas.
Currently, the quality of our bathing waters remains fragile. Surfrider has established programs to facilitate the flow of information to beach users and to ensure access to beaches. Surfrider's 1997 publication of “Black Flags” was widely acclaimed and today Surfrider is a key stakeholder in ocean conservation that cannot be ignored. We lead lobbying initiatives without forgetting our strength; we carry out actions on the ground that are supported by our own laboratories in conjunction with our program of local chapters, the “Keepers of the Coast”.
Surfrider Foundation Europe has campaigned for almost 20 years to protect beaches and the quality of bathing waters.
