Surfrider Cleanups : from 18th to 21st March
The purpose of this event is to alert elected officials, the government and private companies on the impact of marine waste at sea and on the coastline.

Objective: more than 50 000 participants!

Beach Clean-up: the example of Barcelona
On January 16th, 2010, the local chapter Surfrider Barcelona organized Barceloneta's clean-up. In less than an hour, participants picked up 8 cubic meters of waste. You can also act and participate cleaning your favourite beaches, lakes and rivers up.

The Beached whales killed by plastics
On December 18th 2009, seven whales were found dead on a southern Italian beach. The autopsy revealed that they were killed by plastic waste that built up their stomachs.

They have mistaken the objects for squids, one of their favourite foods.

Berria : weeding campagn A weeding campaign blowing across the dunes of Berria

The government of Cantabria in Spain responded to our request for information following the chemical eradication of dunes' flora by public technical services.

This maneuver would destroy the invasive plant Carpobrotus Edulis that grows on Berria's coastline. According to our information it was at the expense of the local vegetation.
