Corsica - Porto Vecchio

Objet

Under the Plan for Sustainable Urban Development in Corsica (PADDUC), several construction projects emerged. If the intention of PADDUC is to encourage reasonable and sustainable development of the coast, certain councils interpretation of the plan will nevertheless result in over development of Corsica's already endangered coastline.

Among these construction projects, in Porto Vecchio, one can list two golf courses and two tourist complexes on agricultural lands, and the development of a PLU (Town planning Local Project) for 100.000 non permanent residents…

Whereas the vote on PADDUC had been suspended by the Corsican Local Authority in 2010, Nicolas Sarkozy raised the subject during a recent visit to the island.

On April 4th, over 80 elected representatives, members of associations and experts in town and country worked on PADDUC file.

This new project had not yet been finalised but we are remaining vigilant!
