Under the Plan for Sustainable Urban Development in Corsica (PADDUC), several construction projects emerged. If the intention of PADDUC is to encourage reasonable and sustainable development of the coast, certain councils interpretation of the plan will nevertheless result in over development of Corsicas's already endangered coastline.
Among these building projects, there is Olmeto with a golf and a residential area on the littoral instead of an agricultural and beautiful sceneries.
Whereas the vote on PADDUC had been suspended by the Corsican Local Authority in 2010, Nicolas Sarkozy raised the subject during a recent visit to the island.
On April 4th, over 80 elected representatives, members of associations and experts in town and country planning worked on PADDUC file.
This new project has not yet been finalised but we are remaining vigilant!
