Recurring marine litter pollution on Epluchures Beach spot.
The stuggle against marine litter in part of Surfrider's campaings in particluar through our Surfrider Cleanups.
Since 1995, SFE has been putting forward the problem of litter on our coasts. That is why, we are promoting a petition in order to get marine litter a knowledged as a real pollution by the European Union.
État des lieux
The beach known as Epluchures Beach (officially called Huveaune's beach) is one of the most pollutedbeaches of Marseille due to its location (a large opening on the harbour, adjacent the Huveaune estuary, facing west directly under dominants winds during westward rainy periods) and strong attendance (picnic siteon beach and embankment).
Because of that, on every windy Mistral day, and every time it rains (the estuary of Huveaune being located close to the beach), waves full of wastes land on Epluchures Beach.
By focusing on Epluchures Beach, SFE wants to treat the issue of beach pollution as a whole.
