Coastlines are under constant pressure from human activities: waste dumping, chemical pollution and inappropriate development have been threatening the ocean for too long. Through a variety of international field actions, Surfrider, with the help of its volunteers and the involvement of citizens and experts, is actively working to defend the ocean and coastlines. With nearly 70 successful actions to date, this network enables local and effective action against projects that are potentially harmful to marine environments.
