Surfrider Foundation Europe and 4 other associations for the protection of the environment represented civil parties. The trial of the ship Eurika took place before the Tribunal of Marseille June 19. The judge's decision was issued Sept. 2, 2009. The judges sentenced the captain and co-owner with a fine of 700 000 Euros. It is a victory for the Surfrider Foundation and the other associations who continue to actively fight against the thugs of the sea.
